Alex Rodriguez homered and had 4 RBI as the SSB SSB Tar Heels crushed the
Dyersville Jurassics 16 to 4.
The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance
provided by Rodriguez. He smashed a two-run homer (his 4th of the season) in
the 1st inning, singled plating two runs in the 6th inning and doubled in the
7th inning. SSB bats were very productive in the 6th inning with 7 runs and
the 7th inning when they had 4 runs on 5 hits. SSB had 13 hits overall,
while Dyersville had 10.
The win was credited to Andy Pettitte(2-2) who went 5 and 2/3 innings allowing
3 runs. Logan Kensing gained credit for his 1st save. Aaron Harang(0-2) was
hit with the loss. He gave up 6 runs in 5 innings of work.
For SSB the victory was a welcome one, indeed. They had been struggling in
their last ten games with a disappointing 1-9 record. With the loss, the
Dyersville ballclub's record is 9-10.
